If Roxio had changed file types, or the file was corrupted, you would get a message saying either invalid file type or cannot open file, etc.
Since you're getting no response, something is wrong with the installation, and the first course of action would be to uninstall and reinstall. Every once in a while, an Anti-Virus program will prevent proper installation, so disable that when reinstalling.
If you've already tried a reinstallation, then I don't know. Is it a Dell?
Edit: I only ask if it's a Dell, not to disparage their hardware, but to address their overtly large number of installed trial programs and running processes that sometimes interfere with normal operation and program installation on systems from their Home division.
