I was at Best Buy last night checking out the latest hardware

I am looking for:

1. a portable am/fm radio with headphones with an AC adapter - can only find battery powered ones

found some things with am fm tuner only that have an ac adapter.

the price range for this should be about $20 - I would pay about $40 if it had a cd player as well.

I would also settle for an inexpensive desk am/fm radio that has an earphone jack.

2. all of the above with the ability to record my voice to minidisk (voice notes) I saw a nice thing by sony that does a lot but can't record my voice. Also it was $179 which is more than I want to spend.

on another note - DVD players were down to below $40

that includes coaxial digital audio but not optical and not progressive scan. For $80 you can get that.

I am miffed that I STILL can't get DVD+RW disks for less than $3.50 in quantity. I don't use my DVD burner as much as I would because of that. I also won't get a DVD Recorder until the media drops in price.

Finally I saw a Sanyo DVD player with DVI interface that upsamples DVDs to 720p and 1080i ($280). I am curious about this as I have a Sony XBR TV that has a DVI interface.
