FS: Sonist Concerto 2
« on: 14 Dec 2009, 12:39 am »
I am moving to floorstanders so these Sonist Concerto 2's must go.  I bought them from a dealer about 3 months ago.  They are perfect.  I will post pics as soon as my camera battery is charged.  I have the original boxes for shipping.  I will split shipping costs at my asking price.

$1350.00

I heard the floor standing version of these at RMAF, powered by a Glow One amp, and I thought they sounded fantastic.  If I'm not mistaken these are about 95db efficient and GREAT with low powered tube amps.

I confirmed that the balance (more than 4 years) of the manufacturers warranty transfers to the new owner.  I also can get the new drivers, when available for $50 per driver plus shipping.  I would be willing to make this purchase for the new owner at their cost, if they wanted the new drivers.

I've been itching to listen to the Sonist line as a possible replacement for my Cornwalls which can be fatiguing at times, Randy of Sonist said these speakers were voiced with a Fi 2a3 amp but I am concerned that at 95db that 3.5 watts may not be enough oomph for me, also looks like mating with a sub would be a requirment.

You'll probably be more than surprised at the amount of bass you will get out of these speakers. They are not bass shy for a monitor.

Hi,   the Sonist Concerto 2 sounds similar to the Concerto 3, same drivers and crossover.  The Concerto 3 goes deeper and has more slam.  They are both 95db eff and run here real well on the 5 watt Glow amp,  yet handle 100 watts class A solid state very well too.   The pair listed here looks to be a great buy.  The Sonist line , made in California, is a music lovers speaker of fine value.   The Concerto 2 is a large/heavy monitor that does have usable, enjoyable, clean ,tight bass output.
