SOLD: Butler 5150 5 Channel Amplifier
« on: 13 Dec 2009, 03:42 am »
Selling my mint condition Butler TDB 5150 amplifier.  I've owned Bryston, Parasound and Rotel multi-channel amps, and the Butler is by far the most musical and engaging.  Here's some quotes from the review in Home Theater Magazine:

"It presents harmonically rich musical structures and allows the listener to perceive a sense of depth, whether you listen to stereo-based music or film scores. It grips bass drivers like a solid-state product and soars with delicacy into the upper frequencies without sounding hard. This is an amplifier that serves both music and film-sound needs spectacularly."

"The Butler Audio TDB 5150 is a breakthrough product that serves two masters (vacuum-tube and solid-state topologies) exceedingly well and also serves the two masters of demand (music and film reproduction) equally well. A true giant killer."

Adding a couple pictures.  I've examined the amp closely and can't find a mark on it.  She's a beauty!

Are those pinstripes on the top of the amp's faceplate or was that just the camera? My 3150's don't have them, thought I would ask. I'll never part with mine.  8)

I thought those were just overhead light reflections, as I can also see them in the granite countertop.

Yep, I see the reflections now that you mention it Steve.  :D  Still, for anyone who's not familiar with these amps, it's good that it be known that they are just reflections.

Cheers,
Robin

Yup, those are just reflections.  Thanks for pointing that out and clarifying.
