HT2-TL in burled walnut
« on: 11 Dec 2009, 10:22 pm »
Kyle wanted something striking.  We just got in a batch of some very nice burled walnut with some sapwood in the sheets.  So I used photoshop to manipulate a photo of the raw veneer and show Kyle approximately what a book-match using the sapwood would look like.  It was just what he wanted.

Here is a shot of the resulting HT2-TL's...

And here is a close-up...

Happy listening Kyle!

Is Kyle a psychiatrist? "Now tell me, Jim, what do you see in the pattern of burled walnut on my speakers?"

Beautiful (and a potentially useful diagnostic tool).

My wife catches me occasionally looking at speakers on the internet and thinks it's a bit goofy. But I just showed her these burled walnut speakers and even she said "Wow those are beautiful!"

Indeed they are. I second that wow. But so much for speakers "disappearing into the room". ;) And who would want them to! Those are conversation pieces.

Truely stunning veneer Jim.  :o   :thumb:  I would like to see the listening room that these gems could possibly blend into.

Kyle wanted a set of loudspeakers that would knock socks off, IMHO he got his wish.

Nice, I dont see how Jim got pieces that match so well, but even more how he built each one to be exact duplicates.

I plan to move sometime within the next year or two, and don't know what type of room these will be in.  I thought it would be a good idea to get something that stood out rather than worry about matching an unknown room.

Jim exceeded my expectations on the "standing out" part.

Well maybe down the road "once the dust settles", you'll post a picture of your system Kyle. I'd love to these these trophy's on display.  :thumb:
