Here's a head scratcher...
« on: 10 Dec 2009, 12:59 am »
Today my Piccolo developed noise in the left channel.  It is a crunchy, spitty, hissy combination of sounds.  It is constant and it does not get louder when I change gain.  Also I tried all load settings and it remains unchanged.
 :banghead:
Opened it up but saw no obvious problems.

Anyone got any suggestions?  :dunno:

TIA,
Jake

Broken interconnect.

Ah, thanks Jim.  I had taken my Piccolo over to a friends for him to try out and see if he want to use one in his system.  I know we didn't use any other interconnects so that may be the culprit.

Will do some testing and report back.

I found a similar problem with a friends Piccolo. Those RCA jacks take a lot of abuse, and they are only held by the solder on the board. Try flowing a good amount of solder over their connections and it should help hold them to the board a little better and make the connections more firm.
