I have used a PF60 for ~ 3 yr to control the power on/off sequencing for the amps, preamp, sources, and the analog signal processor (ASP) for my Orions. This makes it easy for my family (and me too) to turn on/off the music system without having to remember the correct sequencing, e.g., power amps on last, off first, etc.
I worried about a loss of dynamics or bass punch, but I did not observe any negative consequences of inserting the PF60. It's hard to do repetitive A/B testing though: since there are so many power cords to reconfigure I was happy to note "no problems" and leave the PF60 in place.
It also functions as a line fliter/surge protector. Living in Minnesota, I'm a lot more relaxed at work when those late afternoon thunderstorms come through.
