I don't know if its just me, but when I first got a new one it seemed like it was much more sensitive than it is now.  When doing a measurement, the scale would rock back and forth several times when the stylus was first placed on it, and when it was pushed down gently with a finger, and seemed pretty sensitive.  Now it hardly rocks much at all.  I do leave it out in the open and I wonder if there is dust build up or something in the enviroment that does this.

Anyone else notice this, or no what to do about it?

Usually those things are super duper sensitive.  I can't even get mine to balance because there just isn't enough resolution on ye olde counterweight.  Perhaps there's a bit of corrosion on the little bearing doohickey?  How tight is the arrow indicator clip doodad?
