I want to upgrade the electrolytic caps on the Bugle. What have you tried and liked? I'm looking for more openness on the high end. I tried bypassing it (220uf cap) with a 3 uf metal polypro and the result was ugly.

I want to bump this one since I'm thinking of building a Bugle.

I haven't tried much. When run using batteries, the electrolytics don't make much difference. The film bypasses are more important.

Try a Black Gate Standard, or FK if you're feeling flush. Can't beat them for transparency in an electrolytic.
My Bugle sounded real nice with them, tho' I did not do any comparisons.
Good Luck!
