I was planing on spending about $1500 on a sub. The one I was looking at is a Paradigm seismic 12. This is a new sub in their studio line. I just bought their new 2200 and can trade it in on this and some cash . Do you think this would be a good choice or should I look elsewhere ?

For $1,500 I'd look first at the 15" WMD from DIY Cable.

That 15" WMD should be damn near unbeatable for anything under $1,500 (probably beats many a sub that's much more expensive...).

Technically I did "see & hear" the 15" WMD (a pair of them if I recall properly). But I wasn't listening to anything at the time that was engaging the subs, so I can't say for sure how they performed.

How big is your room?

My room is in the basement. Cement floor with carpet finished walls and finished ceiling with textured drywall. 14x19x7.
