I have heard the V-1 and the LS9 extensively. Both are dynamic, both have excellent accurate bass response, both are musical. One advantage that the V-series has over the LS series is efficiency, Another major advantage is that it is much easier to build. A small amp will drive the V's, and my LS9's project is still in pieces in the garage after well over a year . Most have suggested that larger amps are needed to make the LS series come to life. However, I have an adequate amp, and I am happy with my choice of the LS-9's. Personally, I like the sound of the BG mid and upper range over the modified compression driver in the V-1... but if I had the V series, I'd be listening to them now as opposed to trying to get myself motivated to try to veneer those monstrously large LS9's.
Having said all this, I haven't heard the V-2, but am guessing that it's sound will be close to the V-1. Both are excellent speakers.

Oh, I have spent several hours with the OB-7 also. Close, but I like the V-1 over the OB series. I should also mention that I have poor hearing in the upper ranges, so YMMV.
