I have been blessed or cursed with a hearing disability. Having been born with Tinnitus, I have a dip in the midrange where the ringing is but am able to hear very well in sub frequencies and quite high frequencies (yes I can hear a dog whistle). When I listen to systems, if the sound is off just a little to normal ears it is muffled to me. My mother lost her hearing due to scarlet fever when she was young and has no hearing in her left ear and can only hear in her right ear with the help of a very powerful hearing aid. I flew her to North Carolina a while back and while she was here, I put on some Patsy Cline cause I remember her singing those songs when I was young. As she listened she started to cry. When asked what was wrong, she replied "I can hear it so clear". Throughout her stay we played many different types of music and she was like a little girl listening. She enjoyed classical music which is usually congested to her. When trying to listen to live classical or live amplified music it distorted because she could not control the volume.
My point here is subtle changes in your system to most of you can be dramatic to us with hearing problems or the other way around. But I encourage everyone reading this to take the time to share your music with those of us who could really use a little time actually hearing great sound.
