I spent a good part of my Thanksgiving say reading Floyd Toole's book; Sound Reproduction( http://www.amazon.com/Sound-Reproduction-Acoustics-Psychoacoustics-Loudspeakers/dp/0240520092/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1259365482&sr=8-1 ) and founf it very informative and worth while. I haven't finished but it gave me a lot to think about and  a different perspective. He seems to have a preference for multi channel audio and he has a lot of information about psycho acoustical perception - A good read
