Where can I find an appliance bulb cheap!
« on: 22 Nov 2009, 02:49 pm »
I need a replacement bulb for my Kitchenaid  (Whirpool) stove. It's a small 5 watt bulb (part number 4452164) for the oven. Online sites want $20+...ouch!

Anyone have a cheap source for stuff like this?

Do you have a hardware store nearby? Our carries some specialty bulbs. We have ACE out here- you may as well since it's a chain.

I don't know if this bulb is somehow special for oven duty, but it seems rather expensive for a 5W 12V 2-pin Halogen bulb.

Here is one that meets the specs (but not specifically an oven bulb):

As Blair mentioned, you could probably also find it at Ace.  If I could find one for $5, I'd probably give it a try and see if it lasts.
