Cost between CS20 (120V)and Balanced CS20 (250V)?
« on: 22 Nov 2009, 11:14 am »
Are these units the same price?  If so, it appears it would be cost effective to wire into my house 250VAC instead of 120VAC.

Thanks, JohnnyB

James,

Would you help me understand the differences between these units, assuming I have both power sources available, 20A 120VAC and 20A 240VAC:

The tech manual states that I would get a 50% improvement the load current capability.

Example: 1 second peak goes from 200A to 300A.

Is there any downside here in going to a CS20 Balanced?

Looks like the best 'bang for the buck' to me.

Thanks, JohnnyB

Hi,

The main advantage of the 240 volt version is that the wiring in the wall feeding the Torus unit is Balanced - so less noise pickup in the power line feeding the Torus.

Hi Johnny

downside is your stuck to that outlet and resale might be more difficult on a 240.

RESALE,who would want to sell their Torus  :o: .
They are one of the most dramatic upgrades that you can have.
Werd, I do know what you are saying though,240v would be a bit harder to sell than a 120v as everybody has outlets in their house, apartment ect.
You could always unplug the stove for a few hours or the dryer .

 I remember when i first started asking you about the torus. You mentiond that the electrician told you that you have enough 240 power here to run a laundry mat. That still makes me laugh

Hi Werd,I believe the exact words were 8 dryers,I guess that's more than enough, yet again.I still remember(using 5 amps)with a 15a balanced and added a 20a balanced,it was sooooo good.It sure pays to get the right Torus that will handle your all amps and components, you hear the difference in that having all that reserve power from the Torus is quite an ear opener.
