Ok, I know others have had varying results with getting a DIO to sync with DVD players, but has anyone had this happen:

I've got a smART DIO being fed from a Sony 7000 (that I've had for a couple weeks that replaced an old Marantz CD-63 as transport), and at first it would only sync around 50% of the time when opening the tray.  I think this is pretty normal behavior.

Then, this weekend I had some friends over drinking and I don't mind people DJing, but I come downstairs and notice the front light on the DIO is out and my first assumption is that someone had changed the CD, not gotten any sound, and then changed inputs so the 7000 was outputting analog.  I check and it's still the DIO, just without a front light.  Ever since, no sync light (even after power down and up) and the thing has sync'd perfectly every time.

Anyone know what this means (other than maybe I'm lucky)?

Check to make sure it is not on another setting (with a burnt out bulb).  You will only have a synch problem on the "external synch" setting.

If it were me, I would cycle through the settings to see where it actually is set.

Ok, thanks.  I'll check that when I get home.  Although I haven't personally touched that button in months someone else could have.

I have the exact same setup.  My sync frequency seems to be higher now (maybe 80%) that I got a bolder bullet cable and the bybee inline adapter.  Don't know why, but I suspect maybe the bybee somehow?

I don't have the manual to check what's normal, but when I push the button, starting with no light on, I first get the top red light, followed by the middle orange light, and then both the red and orange (all 3 of these produce static).  The 4th iteration is just the green light.  The 5th is no light and a sync every time.  I went through this progression several times, including a power cycle.

So.... it looks like all 3 indicator lights are working.  Should there be 5 different settings (possibly one of them being a different combination of 2 lights that are not lighting for some reason) options or only 4 (and it's doing something strange)?

Thanks.
