Used stuff selling lower

Has anyone else noticed you can get used audio gear cheaper than a year ago? As a buyer I'm elated, as a seller not so miuch. I have been watching sales of different items I will sell one day. One in particular is the Marantz 8b tube amp. Over the last 2 years they have gone form $3200 to $1700 for excellent condition units. :o I know this is in part due to the economy. But being a hobby usually has it's perks where our discression fails to overcome our nervosa.

What do you think?

I see the same. Many hot items start high and then don't sell and the price drops. I watch craigslist and some killer deals are out there. I see audio junkies selling off mixed collections that they were sitting on. The high end stuff goes fast at the better price points.

DEFINITELY, and even with things that don't become "obsolete" like amps.  Rotel RMB-1095, a hefty 5ch surround amp w/ MSRP of $2k used to go used for around $1400 a year ago.  Now they can be had for $800.  I've seen many more, but that one sticks in my mind as I saw it slowly drop $100 every couple months.

I think it depends on what your looking for. I seen Empire turntables double in price in the last few years and some Dynaco pieces have gone up as well.
