A shout out to Conrad Johnson's service department
« on: 20 Nov 2009, 05:48 am »
My McCormack MAP-1 multichannel analogue preamp died a few weeks ago.  Ed at CJ service said likely a chip and two or three other small items were to blame and turn around would be about three weeks.  The turn around was a little less than three weeks.  The unit arrived in perfect working order - including trim setting and some re-burn in to make sure the fixes and adjustments performed well.  The unit arrived in a new box and the repairs/bench time/shipping cost $265.00.  I'm very impressed. :D

C-J is reknown for it's customer service. I've spoken to Ed at C-J a number of times. They still service virtually every component they have ever made.  A principal reason why I use C-J electronics in my system.

That and the fact it sounds pretty wonderful, too.

Ed mentioned everyone in his shop gets a kick out of working on old C-J pieces.  I appreciate that he set my expectations in line with the realities that his shop deals with.  Next time new gear is in order for me C-J will get a hard look.

Agree fully.  Recently bought my first piece of C-J gear, which unfortunately was DOA.  Ed/C-J provided excellent service.  Fortunately the problem was only a broken solder joint, and I couldn't be a happier customer.  Jim Powers of ML, and Dan Wright (Modwright) likewise offer stellar support.

C-J has the best customer service I have ever experienced in HiFi. They go beyond what is necessary for the customer.
