Hi
Here is some new masurements with ARTA acoustical program. Taken from my listening position. Measured with McIntosh and VR4GenIII. The masurements is similar with VR4SRMkI speakers.

CSD:

Frequaency response:

Reverberation time (T30)

Impulse response:

Energy decay:

Great speakers :thumb:
Thanks

Thanks for posting the plots. Spending the money on the equipment and spending the time to take proper measurements is a substantial investment and is much appreciated when you share it with us here.
But, without some comentary or comparison, I don't know what to make of them. I and (I'll go out on a limb here without actually asking) at least some others don't know what to make of the plots without some commentary.
Is each set of info presented good or bad?  Maybe more importantly, how does it compare to other speakers.  If you could provide some comment on each plot and some comparison with other speakers, that would be a great help!
TIA

Love your waterfall and RT McTwins :)  It shows your room is extremely quiet, control room quiet, but you didn't over do the bass control making sub 75dB listening smooth and still full sounding. Great to see that all your hard work and dedication has paid off.

Congratulations!

You seem to understand when it comes to interpret the measurements.

Hi
You have all the answer here: http://www.fesb.hr/~mateljan/arta/. Happy readings.

I am not measuring my speakers to see how the speakers work, more interesting how my room acoustic behave. I have not the possibility to measure all the speakers in the world, but if you can provide me some I would be gladly to do so. :D
Thanks

This looks very cool.  Did you look at other software to make this kind of measurement?  Was developing this capability part of a journey for you to consider room equalization?

Are you happy with your frequency response cure, or will you be using to guide you into trying some room treatment to smooth out the 5-6 db swings in frequency response?

Hi Mike51
Yes, you are absolutely correct. It was a part of the journey otherwise I didin't now what to look for and I had to have some sort of measurements to see what I was doing. I have also winMLS 2000 version and it is much the same as measuring with ARTA. If you see my gallery there is some measurments with winMLS taken some time ago. The benefit with ARTA is it has RTA where one can use this feature and go around the room with the mic and see what happens with freq response or play a record and see in real time the freq reaponse, this is cool to watch. Most recordings I have have very poor bass response. It's true what they are saying about the heartbeat in Pink Floyds "Dark side of the moon" occur around 25Hz. :thumb:

The most important I have notice is the Reverberation Time(RT) and the Cumulativ Spectral Decay(CSD), CSD you see the resonases in your room in time and the RT where one can see an even or (uneven) response in the 63-8000Hz bands measured in T30. Helmholtz resonators and diffusion helpt me alot in these cases.

I have very difficult rooms ratio here so the freq response I have is acceptable, but sure it could be better. I would have to install resonators in my kitchen and the entrehall and so on, woulden't be practible.
Thanks

I am very happy to see an audiophile undertake room correction!  No matter how "perfect" a speaker measures in an anechoic chamber, the average listening room can affect the speaker's response by +/- 18dB, which is an enormous alteration of timbre.
In addition, a lack of bass or excess of treble reverberation are confusing symptoms that are likely to be blamed on the speaker and not the room.
As McTwins has found, using test equipment and treating the room can enable your speakers (no matter what brand) to sound closer to the original source.
When a customer buys a VSA speaker, he is also buying into our experience and can expect us to help him or her achieve maximum sound quality.  I intend to write a series of articles on how to fine tune your system, but as always, I encourage our customers to email me personally for help in solving any issues they have with their room, system, or speaker placement.

Hi
Thanks Albert, glad you could chime in here and give your opinion on the matter. I have also realize that the room is a major factor. The sound I have now is very difficult to remove and would never be satisfied to listening to music without the treatments, now that I know how good it is. In this room or anyother for that matter. Best I have ever done :D
Thanks
