We kept the transformers as close to OEM condition as possible for an authentic 50?s appearance. Very few Nostalgic Series amplifiers are made because the iron has to exhibit a natural classic tube tone. A Nostalgic Series amp has to have some warmth to it yet also have a very nice overall level, linear response. Smooth and easy to listen to are this amp?s attributes. Ever use 6V6's before? They're addicting!

They have incredible endurance, are cleaner than EL84's and are rated on the top of my efficiency chart, alongside 6L6's & 5881's.

I'm handy with these tubes and can get every ounce of performance out of them. This amp is a giant killer.

If you are new with tube audio, this is a great amp to have. It provides enough power with efficient speakers, even for movie watching. Resolution is excellent, fine details are never lost. I call it a giant killer because it sounds much bigger than it is.

A 6V6 is a mini 6L6. Have you ever heard one? They're a very,very clean running tube. 6V6's have always been one of my favorite tubes, more so than the El84. This is a true HiFi tube designed for purists - well, maybe not specifically for purists, but you could have fooled me.

The 6V6 breaks up later than a EL84, making them a wonderful choice to design an amplifier around. They require very little filament current (equates to LOW filament EMI) and are high gain. Good sound born of efficiency- there's nothing like it.

I am going to make more after this one goes simply because it's such a wonderful tube and the audio community should get reintroduced to them.

Just wondering- It seems like one of those "ghost" items that gets overlooked.

6V6's are workhorses, inexpensive and available in vintage models for reasonable prices. This is an ideal amp for high efficiency speakers, especially horn loaded models. I like how it does a perfect job of unifying the horn with the rest of the elements. This is one of those amps that just feels right once it's connected. Variable feedback is installed and is 1,0000x's better than fixed feedback.

Anything I make with such a low price is a promotion. I guess you can call it the cost of advertising. Besides, it's Christmas!

I am sick of this recession and am trying to help others and myself through it. We all like to get nice things once and a while, so I thought of this as a treat for someone with efficient speakers. It is similar in nature to the green EL84 amplifier a customer recently did a review on. The 5-tube stereo circuit is economical and performs past expectations. It contains about as many parts as my single ended designs, yet is more efficient due to being push pull. Sonically, it's between a single ended amp and a push-pull amp.
