1940s 1950s Military 6SL7 VT-229 Vacuum Tubes

I have come into possession of a very large group of 1940s and 1950s military 6SL7 vacuum tubes that I have agreed to sell on consignment for a third party.

Brands include RCA, Sylvania and Ken-Rad, and to a lesser extent Tung-Sol and National Union.  Different types of most brands.  Lots of VT-229.  See the photo, which shows about one-half of the total group (+/- 250 tubes).

I am beginning the process of organizing, cleaning and testing some of these tubes, and will ultimately generate individual lots to be listed on the infamous auction site.

If, however, anyone is interested to get in early, drop me a note.  Email is baileyler@comcast.net.  Let me know what you might be looking for, and I can tell you if it is available and at what price (which will likely be less expensive than you can get elsewhere).  Also feel free to make me an offer.

I did get four ultra-rare Sylvania 6SL7W metal base tubes out of this group.  I will list these separately (for an uncharacteristically exorbitant price).

Testing of these will be for transconductance on a Weston 981 III.

Please note that I have limited time to put into this, so I will do my best to timely respond to any inquiries.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Please note that any tubes I sell will be sold "AS IS", but I will guarantee against DOA or a material misdescription of any information I provide.

Keep in mind that, as is well-known, tubes of this vintage may have very slightly loose bases due to the original adhesive deteriorating.  THIS IS NOT A DEFECT - just take care to insert and remove the tubes via the base (do not pull on the glass).  I prefer not to alter the condition of the tubes (other than to clean off the dust), but will be more than happy on request to put a drop or two of superglue down the glass to stabilize the bond (where required).

All of these tubes are pulls from military equipment, and are in all cases to be considered USED.  Many of the tubes in this group will have slightly-to-moderately weather-worn bases.  Again, THIS IS NOT A DEFECT, and will not affect performance.  If a base is cracked or a guide pin is missing, I will note it.  Just please do not expect pristine tubes, because these are not.

I will ONLY describe what I know about the tubes, and what I have tested for.  If the information is not there, DO NOT ASSUME, and do not rely on any of YOUR assumptions.  If you need more information than provided in the listing, ASK IN ADVANCE.  If I happen to have the information, I will provide it.  If I can get the information in a reasonable way, I will get it.

I do the best I can with very limited time and capabilities.  I am an honest seller, but I am NOT a tube professional, and I am NOT in the tube business.

AS SUCH, PLEASE NOTE THAT I CANNOT GUARANTEE (OR EVEN REMOTELY PREDICT) HOW THESE TUBES WILL SOUND OR PERFORM IN YOUR EQUIPMENT.  ANY TEST RESULTS I PROVIDE CAN ONLY BE CONSIDERED AN INDICATION OF TUBE PERFORMANCE IN A VERY LIMITED (AND NON-IDEAL) ENVIRONMENT.  I DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL REPRESENTATIONS, WARRANTIES AND LIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO THESE TUBES, OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR USE OF THEM.

In the USA, I prefer to ship via USPS Priority Mail.  Outside of the USA, I prefer to ship US Postal First Class International, but weight and value sometimes requires moving up to US Postal Priority Mail International or Global Express.

Payment can be via cash, check, money order or Paypal.  Checks and money orders (other than US Postal money orders) must clear my bank before I will ship.  Paypal will only be shipped to a confirmed address (unless Paypal otherwise indicates that I am protected on the transaction).  Local pickup is welcome (Chadds Ford, PA).

Trade value might be considered, but at this point my main interests are only 7728 tubes and SACD/DVD-A discs.  Anything, however, might be considered at the right value, so don?t hesitate to ask.

Please check my feedback on Audiogon, Videogon and Ebay (ID=baileyler) and buy with confidence.

I picked up some of Bart's 6sl7s for my Space Tech Labs pre-amp.  The tubes arrived swiftly, were beautifully and securely packed, and were just as described.  Communication was always clear and prompt, and Bart was also very helpful for a tube dummy like me.

If you need 6sl7s, you need not hesitate to deal with Bart.

These are still available, and will start going on the infamous auction site starting in 2010.  If interested in a few (or all), get in before that time.
