I am going to be in Boston and the Boston area from early tomorrow afternoon to late Friday morning.  I'm looking for some "gotta eat" recommendations for lunch.    Nothing fancy.  Likely won't have time for dinner, other than room service.

Well, I'll be arriving tomorrow in time for a late lunch.  I could make my way into the city from the airport.  Something fairly accessible from the airport would be great.  I would be spending most of my 2-days there just west of the city.

If you find yourself over by Harvard you can check out Bartley's burgers.  Good burgers and a fun place with an "animal house" sort of feel.  There's a good Vietnamese place in Chinatown that I like too but I can't remember the name.

I always make sure I go to Legal Seafood when I'm in Boston. I think their clam chowder is the best, so I have to get my fix every time.

The rest of their food is quite good too. Maybe clam bellies, or some steamers... I had some bluefish there last Spring that was really tasty.

Ok nothing fancy.  If you wan to stay close to the airport your options are not limited but tougher.

First I would say Santarpios in East Boston.(Note: do not expect a nice area just good food)  Its is quite close to the Airport.  It only serves small pizzas, sausage and lamb kabob.  I would get the combo that comes with all three. 

Next there is The Barking Crab which is a pretty good "shore style" seafood joint on the Boston/Southie border

Near there is "Luckies Lounge"  which has very good sliders and bar food.

You could also do the North End but it can be pricey and Itallian is not my thing but if it is yours just head down and find a place.

South End has lots of restaurants to check out.  Plenty that will have good lunch specials. 

What kind of food do you like? 

Also if you say where "Just west of the city" is I can give some specific recs that will be close.  I live "Just west" .

That looks like a winner to me. Chowder, clam bellies, steamers, lobster rolls, and crabs. What more could you want?
