I'm turning the mancave into a more family friendly HT/stereo/my wife wants to be able to use the fireplace kind of room, so:

REVISED LISTING

SLP50B:  $750.00
My Cary SLP50B has been lovingly modified to provide the highest performance possible from a great platform. The modifications are:

HexFRED B+ rectifiers
5A Schottky filament bridge
Greatly increased power supply capacitance for B+ and filaments
Polypropylene bypasses on power supply capacitors
Sonicap Platinum .22ufd coupling capacitor bypasses
Includes a matched pair of Sovtek 6H30PiEB tubes

This preamp is extremely low noise, fast and articulate with tremendous slam and spatialization. Amazing detail without a hint of harshness.

This preamp comes with a custom maple platform (pictured) at no additional charge.

CAD572SEMkII: - $1250.00

Here is a pair of Cary CAD572SE-MkII amplifiers in very good condition. These amps are not 572 eaters like some of them proved to be. Amps come with tightly matched 5691 red bases as well as standard 6SL7s'. These amplifiers also come with custom built maple amp floor stands. These amplifiers are capable of uncanny realism when paired with the right speakers. I am using them with a pair of 4 ohm 91dB 1W/1m speakers in a 20'x14'x8' room and they sound incredible.

Thanks for looking and feel free to email me @ dgelledges@msn.com or shoot me a PM if you have any questions.

I really hate to part with this great sounding preamp/amp combo, so promise me that you'll take good care of my babies.

 :(

Thanks, guys.

Why would you sell a preamp to get something with no gain?

What tubes does the preamp come with?

It is a buffer.  My source has plenty of voltage to drive the stereo power amp to full output.  The main reasons are to provide lower output impedance to mitigate cable capacitance to some extent and to provide more current.  The Buffer uses 6922/6DJ8 variants.

Of course the other reason is it sounds good.  Matches the stereo amp I'm getting, too.
