Songs You Love, with Bryston gear!
« on: 2 Nov 2009, 12:41 am »
I just love hearing the song Pipeline by Stevie Ray Vaughn & Dick Dale. Must have played it like 10 times yesterday. It's like only 2:30 minutes long, but I have it on repeat. :inlove:

It's not just the masterful guitar playing duet. It's the surf sound that images beautifully. Halographic I guess you could say. You can see on YouTube.

What song do you play with fanatical passion on your Bryston gear?

I wouldn't say with "fanatical passion" but I do listen to "Cobalt" by Oystein Sevag a lot.  The violin is amazing!

Dianna Krall "Narrow Daylight" sounds like she's right there in the room.  In fact that entire Girl in the Other Room CD sounds fanstastic.

I'll go with Sade the best of, nice clean bass and drum tracks,
in your face meat +potatoe grooves especially on her more up tempo tracks
Nicely layered ect. That's when I'll turn it up and be transported somewhere else,a BIGGER ROOM .

In contrast to other amplifiers I have owned I enjoy all my music through the Bryston.
But, if I have to put one song forward its this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XGsvGpgOoI&feature=related
When playing this one be sure to hold on to your jaw, it will hit the floor faster than you think...

Al DiMeola "Two To Tango" from "Splendido Hotel".  Good call on Diana Krall's "Girl In The Other Room" b5pt9.  I used her arrangement of Tom Waits "Temptation" in all my auditions.

Anything by Townes Van Zandt. His voice and guitar sound awsome through my Bryston/PMC combination. To quote one of Townes songs: "I love the system here, the bottoms low and the treble's clear, but it don't pay to dwell on things you leave behind"

Cheers,
