Red Dragon AMP-1 mono blocks

Up for sale is a pair of AMP-1 mono block amps from Red Dragon Audio. These are high-powered ICEpower based amps which use B&O 200 ASC modules. They were made as a special offering by Ryan Tew, owner/designer of Red Dragon Audio, and are rarely available on the used market.

These are sweet little amps, with little being the operative word. Each amp is about 7" x 7" x 2" high, and weighs just over 2 lbs. They offer a  high amount of power, with minimal packaging (and no heat). They have no on/off button; instead they have a built-in sensor which turns them on when they receive an input, and turns them off after 15 minutes of inactivity. IMHO, they are perfect for driving rear speakers in a HT system. You can hide the amps anywhere you want, and simply forget about them. Or you can use them as the cnetr piece of a budget new tech system. I used these amps to drive a pair of Gallo Ref 3.1 speakers (with very nice results), but have decided to go back to a 2-channel only system (using a classic, big-ass muscle amp) so these are up for sale.

Asking $450, including paypal fees and shipping in the CONUS. Included are the optional Volex 14AWG power cords. Amps will be shipped bubble wrapped and double boxed for safety.

NOTE: I bought these amps earlier this year from another Audiogon/Audiocircle member, who was the original owner. Sadly, one of the amps was damaged during shipment. After some minor investigation (and a series of email echanges with Ryan Tew, Presdident of Red Dragon Audio), the damage was traced to a broken ferrite ring. I opened the case, found the broken ring, and used superglue to bond it back and place and reassemble the amp. Ryan tells it is a 100% functional fix, but won?t last forever. (Evidently superglue is brittle, and will eventually fail. A better choice would have been a high strength epxoy, which he thinks would be a permanent fix). Send me an email if you want to see details of the fix.
