My very good friend John Wiesner (of Loesch & Wiesner fame; see http://www.tempoelectric.com/preamp.htm) is offering a few of his custom, hand made products for sale. Before he posts on Ebay, I suggested that I offer them on the AudioCircle website.

I have two pairs of John?s SET amps (2A3 & 300B) as well as his preamp used on my Klipschorn & Tannoy systems. My brother in-law also has John?s amps & preamps on his Klipsch Cornwall-based system. After having numerous hi-end amp/preamp combos in my system, John?s equipment sounded best to me (as well as to my audio club friends). Also, I?m very finicky about tube amp-preamp noise. John?s designs & craftsmanship produce zero noise at idle.

The items are brand new with several hours of ?break-in? time. All are point to point wiring (no circuit boards) and are the epitome of craftsmanship.

Prices are negotiable with John.

Pair of SET convertible triode amplifiers. Can use 300B, 50 or globe 250 or 10 or globe type 210 triode output tubes by flipping a switch that changes the filament voltage from 5 to 7.5 volts. The rectifier tube can use a 5V4 or 5AR4 type. Input tube is a Western Electric 262B. Driver tube can use either a 5687, 6900 or 7119 type.

Output transformer is a new James 6123HS, known for their great sound. Included tubes include white-ceramic base Electro Harmonix 300B?s and all US made 5V4 rectifier, 262B input and 5687 driver tubes.  $2200 for the pair of monoblocks.

Please contact me if you?re interested and I?ll give you John Wiesner?s contact info. He is a very knowledgeable and nice gentleman.

The top pair of amps also has a top of the line TANGO audio chokes (grey hammertone box) between the 300B & Western Electric 262B tubes.

Wow, nice blocks.  I bet parts costs is close to this.  I know because I've built a few.  Maybe a little less but considering the build quality these are a steal.   Anyone who's ever built tube amps knows that this is a LOT of work.  A lot more than it looks like.

That's the deceptive part of tube amps...you look at the schematic, and think "Oh, that's it?"...then price out what premium parts cost and suddenly it hits you :D

Gorgeous pieces, love the line stage too.

These are great amps, I have a pair. I have upgraded my output iron to Tango permalloy, fantastic!
These are a heck of a deal!

Shooter -
The "heck of the deal" at $1800 (Buy it Now) is even sweeter now since the amps made their very low reserve and now are "up for grabs"; IMHO opinion, of course...

Cheers,
Pete
