Currently, I own a 22" widescreen monitor as well as a 27" Sony CRT TV. We don't get any TV broadcasts, but use the TV only to view DVDs. In an attempt to streamline the home, I'm considering replacing both the monitor and the TV with a single (larger) widescreen monitor. The family would then use the PC to watch DVDs too.
Why are 30" monitors so overwhelmingly expensive? It seems that 28" monitors are only half the price of their 30" brothers. And why are 28" monitors so much more expensive than 28" TVs, when the TVs include all the reception circuitry as well as speakers?
Does anybody have a good recommendation for a monitor that will make me happy and won't break the bank?
