I've had my BT Sports headset beta now for a few weeks. Here's my quick review:
1. Surprisingly lightweight and snug fit. Though first two runs through the hills of SF, I got ear fatigue on my left ear. Where the hook rests behind my ear. Seems to have eased up / self adjusted since the break in phase.
2. Ear fit. I like the fact that they are NOT fully in-ear, that would not good for running through the City...need to be able to hear a tad of ambient noise around you. Nuforce executes very well here. Best feature.
3. Volume. The volume steps go in nice tight increments up to about 70% loudness then there is an annoying jump from kinda loud to SUPER loud, in a noticeably bigger step up in volume than all previous step ups. Nuforce should look at this. I think I notice one odd step up down at super low volumes as well.
4. Bluetooth connectivity. If I hold my iPhone in my right hand, I get no cut outs. If I switch and hold my iphone in my left hand, I get lots of cut outs. If I put the iphone behind my back, it almost always cuts out. Must be due to the BT receiver/antenna in headset located on right side? Range seems to be pretty decent if I put my iPhone on kitchen island I can roam around pretty well. Surprised that it cuts out when putting it behind my back, after the kitchen test.
5. The track fwd/back buttons don't work with iPhone's iPod player.
6. Audio quality. Decent audio quality for the price, not super rich or deep low end, nor a live performance-like soundstage, but very nice overall. Depends on how far in the ear pieces get into your ear. Again, for running I like the balance of mostly in-ear, but enough of an opening for a tad of ambient street noise so you don't get run over.
7. Overall a very nice pair of stable, form fitting headphones for jogging that don't bounce around on my head, and don't feel heavy around my ears. If Nuforce can work out a few of these bugs above, they'd be near perfect.
