wanting to build a tube amp
« on: 20 Oct 2009, 05:26 pm »
Ive got a couple of non working amps that uses 6L6s. One amp is from a Philco record player console and the other is from a organ. I am wanting to build a stereo 6L6 amp from these. First does anyone know where I can come up with a schematic and which ones would be the best? Ive googled it and came up with some but mostly for guitar amps. Can you use a 12ax7 or 12au7 as drivers for these 6L6s? What I have in mind is using a 12ax7 or 12au7 in front of these 6L6s or is going to overdrive the 6L6s? Any help would be appreciated!

The Simple SE amp is a very good and fairly easy project.

It can use 6L6s and it is designed to use a 12AT7 as a driver tube.

Check it out.
