WTB: Homebrew tube parts...PTs, chokes, chassis
« on: 18 Oct 2009, 05:54 pm »
I'm in the process of planning a line stage build, but as my junk box is basically empty right now I'm starting from square one on parts :(

I'm looking to see if anyone has some stuff lying around that would be useful to me...looking specifically for plate + filament trafos (between 500-700VCT with a 5V rectifier winding would be perfect), chokes, and maybe a case to put everything in. I'm finding that neat vintage enclosures are hard to find, especially now that we're out of hamfest season!

Thanks all in advance :)

Are you married to the tube rectifier? I've been using a diode multiplier so I can use a much lower V Xmer. I'm playing with a 30V ct and when loaded, I get 12V from one of the windings for my signal tube fill.

Nah. I think I'm going with John Broskie's DC regulator board anyway, so I can get regulated B+ and DC for the filaments...for $65, I can't complain.
