I'm trying to stick around $1000 or under for amp or amps in the Home Theater setup. Don't mind used as long as price and quality is there. I'm thinking of building a 7.1 using all Neo2s or Neo2s w/Neo3s as fronts. I don't know what to do yet about the center channel, but that's another discussion.

I've never bought an amp before and am open to the full the range from Monoblocks (too expensive as far as I can tell) to all channels in one package I guess. I thought I might get more out of these speakers going beyond an av receiver. I haven't considered which Pre/pro yet, maybe a bunch of Virtue integrateds amp with a processor added is the way to go. I haven't thought much about subs yet either. However, I guess today is amp day, so thank you for your assistance.

Try emotiva UPA-7 (125wx7 - $699). I've no personal experience with one, but people seem to be happy with this. Or any of the used ATI/parasound/rotel multichannel amps on Agon or elsewhere. All of these should be available under $1000.

Note the N2X Center Chanel.  :D

I got a Yamaha RX-V663 for about $500, definitely not Audiophile quality but it had everything I needed including HDMI (which hasn't made much of an appearance in the high-end used market) and I could afford it at the time.

The Virtue sounds very good with the Neo 2x. If you are going to be listening to a lot of music going with a pair of Virtues (one for the L/R and one for the center) and then pretty much anything for the surrounds would be a very nice option.

I'll throw out a Pioneer Elite SC-25.
I know many are saying no way.

Basically it is a nice reciever with 7 ICE amps.

Those amps will love the easy load the 3 Neo3 would make up front. For the rear there is no option other than the AV-1RS unless you can get Danny to make an Neo-RS.

Good Luck.

If you are open for used amps, then I would highly recommend a used Emotiva MPS-1 or MPS-2. Rare finds but do come up on Audiogon once in a while.

It would be slightly higher than your budget though (~1200 for 7 channels +/- transaction costs)

I'm building 5 neo3s for my surround sound setup.  I'll let you know how it goes.  :thumb:

I second this recommendation for Pioneer Elite's SC series receiver.  I have the SC-05 powering my X-Statiks, X-Voce, & X-LS Encore and have been pleased with the sound.  It's crystal clear, detailed, dynamic, and powerful.  It's just as good as the Emotiva amps that I used before, but the sound is more balanced from top to bottom with the MCACC room correction algorithm.
