Another Apple TV question

Can one connect an external drive to Apple TV through USB and use a laptop to run itunes?

Not officially.  :wink:

There are hacks out there that allow you to do so, but I don't see the need as you can connect to a remote library through iTunes, and then stream to the ATV.

thank you, Crimson, but I am still confused a bit. By remote library you mean the external drive connected to the laptop using a cable of wi-fi? I'd like to avoid cables so I can use the laptop while streaming to the ATV. Just thinking that 160Gb of ATV won't last forever. Thanx!

By remote library I mean either streaming to the ATV from a remote machine, or having the ATV access a library on a remote machine. Either wifi or wired works. Try it out.
