Favre passes yet another milestone...

Tonight he became the first QB to beat every team in the NFL!

Looks like the 'Silver Fox' still has some fire inside. It's tough, I tell ya'...on the on hand they're looking pretty damned good. A.P. didn't have a great game but overall they're running the ball well. And the defense has been damn good thus far. Favre seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle, but having watched 'em for years, I gotta keep telling myself that they're still the Vikings!

I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop!

Hopefully they'll beat the Bears and take another on in GB. If they can I'll feel a little more comfortable.

I have to be amazed at his career and his heart. I checked on Wikipedia and he started his college career as 7th-string quarterback! He sure has chapped some in the sports press, but I have to ask, what gives them the right to be offended at his decisions? The idea that he has to fit into their little world-view is laughable when you see him play for Minnesota. This is the perfect example of why you should never let peer pressure, and especially the media influence your thinking!

Well said. I can understand why the Fudgies (aka Fudge Packer fans!

) would be upset- he was a legend in GB. But if he still wants to play, and obviously is able to continue at an elite level, what's the problem? It seems like a non-story created by the 24 hour news cycle spilling over into sports.

As a die hard Vikes fan I used to loath Brett Favre. How many times can you stand seeing a guy stick the dagger in and twist it?

It seems like so many times the Vikings had him bottled up only to have him pull something out of his ass to beat Minnie right as the clock ran out.

But over the years I developed a grudging respect for him that gradually turned into admiration. I found myself actually rooting for him...of course, only in situations that didn't affect the Vikes. Ultimately when he retired the first time I found myself bummed out. It just wouldn't mean nearly so much to see the Vikings beat the Pack without Favre at the helm.

Of course, I'm delighted that Favre "saw the light" and signed with the Vikings! Even if I wasn't a Vikes fan it would be sad to see him hang it up after the end of the year he had last season, playing hurt and going out at the end of a long skid. Hopefully his 40 year old arm will last another season (or even two) and he can maybe make a serious playoff run.

Oh, yeah- I wouldn't mind him helping Minnie thump the Fudgies one more time!

Haha! Yeah, the Steelers will be quite a test. Hopefully the Vikes will have their big guns healthy & play well. I had to work today; I generally don't work Sundays but it was kind of an "emergency" and I didn't get off til the game was done.

I'm trying to scour the net and see what's up with AP.

Favre is the main reason the Viqueens are undefeated. Without him they would be pretty average. They would have at least two losses.

I believe this is the first time Favre has been 6-0, believe it or not?

I saw an interview with Fran Tarkenton several days ago. He is one who did not like the fact that Favre retired from the Green Bay Packers, and came out of retirement to play again on a different team. His reason? Brett Favre will always be remembered as a Green Bay Packer when he is in the Hall of Fame.

Well, excuse me Mr. Tarkenton. Sorry this turn of events does not fit in with your idea of how the NFL should turn out. I guess Tom Landry should still be coaching the Cowboys, Kurt Warner should be kicked out of the NFL for playing on too many teams...I think its up to Brett Favre, to some extent, how he will be remembered, is it not? He has said so in so many words, in a press conference. If he and the Vikings were to win the Superbowl this year I guess it would really cause problems for Fran Tarkenton. It seems to me that Fran Tarkenton, and many others, are too concerned about how the legacy of others turns out. That's pretty un-American if you ask me. And I'm sure the rest of the world feels the same way - I guess Pele should never have played in America after his amazing career with Santos and the Brazilian National Team. One should not attempt to limit someones career in an attempt to shape history. THis has never turned out well.

I dunno. Without the "Silver Fox" they won the division last year behind the best running back in the NFL. Their defense is stout. Obviously beating the FudgePackers doesn't prove much, sissies that they are (

Think the Steelers will be a big test for the Vikings? The Bears took them out without too much problem. Let's wait on that "also-ran" status - looking forward to the Vikings/Bears match ups. Although they did give one away last night.

Wow! Your Bears did win the game but trailed the Steelers the entire game until they threw the winning touchdown with just a few seconds left on the clock. I don't know if the Steelers will be a match for the Vikings this week but if they aren't it certainly does not bode well for your Bears when they get their chance at the Vikes.

Fair enough on how "easy" that win was!

Must admit that I mixed up the game cadence. Well, we absolutely gave last night away, so coming out 1-1 in those two games is probably about right.

Loved what Favre did to the Packers, but now I'm getting a little worried. But I do think the Bears upside is pretty great this year. The running game can be better than it has been performing, the passing game has a lot of different guys to go to, and the defense is playing pretty well, even missing Urlacher. I think 10-6 and in the playoffs is a reasonable goal this year...

Steelers have always been my second favorite team, so only when they play the Bears do I not root for them. Go Steelers this week!!!!!

Cutler reminds me of a a young Brett Favre. He has a very strong arm and he has so much confidence in his arm it allows him to take risks. With risks there is the potential for great rewards but last night we saw the negatives to those risks.

The good news for both of us is that is a lot of football season left. People could crown Indy or New Orleans now but lets get through regular season and crown the champ after the play offs!

While a win is a win and I will take it I have to admit to thinking Favre was going to pull off another 4th quarter comeback against my Steelers. I was pulling like heck against Favre and I thought he really had a great game. The Steelers stuffed the running game and he just kept moving the chains through the air. I have not looked up the game stats yet but it seemed like the Vikes had the ball 40 minutes. Anyway, good look to the Vikes next weekend against the Pack!

Congrats on the Steel victory!! It wasn't really that flukey. Like you said to me above, the Favre way has its benefits and its risks (not that the last pass had to be picked off, but he has thrown I think more picks than anyone).

Nothing to say about my Bears... Need an offense and a defense from what I saw today.
