Happy New Year first
I am in the process of home improvement and will be adding a tube amp and pre along with tube friendly front speakers. As part of the project I would like to take my present front speakers and move them upstairs to my bedroom and run them off the "B" speaker outputs on my Sony STR DA3000ES receiver. (the Sony's preouts on the front left and front right would become an input to the new preamp.)
The route of the speaker wire includes the attic and the temperature extremes that happen in an attic. Also , allowing for the up and down inside walls etc., the length appears to be about 50'. Is that too much distance for signal attenuation, RFI,EMI whatever ?
Has anyone had any experience doing something similar and can you offer some wisdom and experience? Also a reasonable costing speaker cable (given the great length and issues) would be appreciated.
