Help! Bugle Phono Preamp
« on: 2 Oct 2009, 02:06 am »
I have a hagtech bugle phono preamp that is in partially assembled condition.  Is there anyone out there with a lot of DIY experience, or who has assembled a few of these before who could help me complete the project? I'd be happy to compensate for your time, although my pockets aren't that deep these days... (who's are?).  I doubt it will take more than an hour for someone familiar with these.  I really want this thing working and looking nice... I just don't have the time to complete it.  It's a shame that it has been sitting on my shelf for a few months now.

Please- if anyone out there can help me out please contact me.  You can catch me here, but my private email might be best: epu@comcast.net

If you can I would greatly appreciate it.

Here is some background information for those curious:

I bought it as a kit, with the parts also included (not directly from hagtech).
I also have a nice wood enclosure, as well as some high quality RCA jacks and another resistor for a 60db gain.  It is almost completely assembled, save the op amps, jacks and on/off switch.  I have an illuminated switch, but was concerned that it might draw too much power to light on.  I figured it important as I wouldn't want to leave it on and drain the batteries.. I would need some good op amps put in (preferably the plug-in type so I can upgrade if necessary), as well as mount the bugle and jacks in the wood enclosure.  It has enough room to also put in a hagtech power supply board, which I will purchase and include if you'd like to do the project.  I'd like to be able to switch impedence for MM to MC carts with different loads (as in, toggle between 40, 50, or 60dB), as well as switch between battery and plug-in power.

Thanks for your time!  Hope to hear from someone soon.
