I'm talking about the hi level amp to speaker cable. I'm running Gronenburg TS premiums ICs from the pre to the plate amp input. The wiring harness just seems like pretty cheap stuff, so I was thinking it just didn't matter much. If it did, then why didn't they put in heavy duty connectors or at least solder tabs on the amp for the hookup? I realize that the plate amp was originally conceived to fit within a sub enclosure and have very sort leads to the speakers. My setup is well...a little different. You're pretty much forced to use the factory wiring harness, as it plugs into a socket on the amp.
While we're on the subject of wire, what about the power cord? I just ordered the parts to make up a cryo'd version of the famous Asylum cord for my digital front end (transport and DAC PS), but totally forgot about the sub amp. I've got decent PC'd on my pre and power amps. A Stan Warren on the pre, and Gronenburgs on the Stratos. I guess I could just try swapping in a better cord and listening....huh?
