I love them... I'd love to design a pair of speakers in conjunction with the GIK panels.. it would be a theme set and true works of art IMO

Funny, I had the same thought. Now I need some sangria and a plate of suckling pig!

thanks.  the ceiling tiles were custom built.  they are basically RPG bad panels done custom---you can get the diffusion templates direct from RPG.

now that's interesting. Can you elaborate slightly please?

do you mean (assuming they are stamped metal or something) that they just send you the metal, then you build the box and stuff and cover it?

Or, they sell you the 'pattern' and you build the panel with perforations.

Have not ever noticed that on their website (unless it is US only for example), is there a link??

Nice room, congrats!

they are perforated masonite i believe and then we cut them to the appropriate overall size for the maple frames.

they are a bit pricy for what they are, but i don't know of a legitimate other source.

here is a basic RS frequency response up/down based on like 1000hz as i recall (using Rives adjusted test tones).

is this considered good or bad?  Glenn/Ethan?

i was noticing while using a tripod, that anywhere standing behind it---seems like it changes a lot, so i still need a bookshelf in the back of the room.  i do note that highs are way, way better.  seems that really low midrange (100-300hz) is still erratic.

Keith,

Did you get them directly from RPG or from a local supplier?

That's not terribly unusual, nor all that bad except for the one huge spike in the subwoofer range.  It's really hard to tell though what's happening with coarse measurements like that.  A 1/24th octave smoothed sweep or an unsmoothed sweep from 20-300Hz will tell a lot more.

KeithR.......
I am gonna be totally honest with you about the measurement you have shown. That freq responce is not acceptable. I don't know witch room you are presenting.
Thanks

Actually, he's +/-5 for the most part which a lot of people would kill to have.  Real in-room measurements are never pretty nor as uniform as their anechoic/test bench specs would indicate.

As I said though, we'll really know more when we get a more detailed measurement set with no smoothing and full sweeps as opposed to 1/3 octave tones.
