JPS Labs Wire Upgrade For N3
« on: 27 Sep 2009, 05:09 pm »
What improvements do the JPS Labs wire make to the N3?

I can see the cap upgrade making a big difference...but the wire has me wondering if it's worth the expense.

Thanks,

Kimber Kable is partly responsible for me getting into this hobby.  I've tried lots of other cables out there and some sound better than others.  I haven't tried the JPS wire yet but I might if I ever get around to building some OB-7s.

When it comes to hearing how cables effect the sound the key is to have an open mind.  They will never improve the sound.  They can only do more or less damage to the signal.  The better cables simply do less.

Its a small upgrade...probably similar to upgrading binding posts or inductors.  If you're going all-out, its a worthwhile investment, but if you're not sitting back and picking out every detail...maybe not worthwhile.

I went and upgraded binding posts, caps n resistors, inductors, wire, and used no-rez on my pair of N2X...mostly because I saved so much by using PE cabinets and there's not a lot of wire, either.  Couldn't imagine the cost of this wire on a pair of Line Source speakers.
