Hey Randy, welcome aboard and pleased to make your acquaintance.
You have done some incredible work on those speakers!!  If they sound half as good as they look, they'll prob'ly roll yer socks down and back up again!
Hope to see you at Scott's!
Great stuff! (do you ever get tired of hearing that?!)

Best regards,
Bill

Way cool stuff  Randy :green:

Very neat stuff Randy.  I was going to suggest you talk to Bob about custom speakers with organic looks....but I see you two have already chatted.  Maybe someone would be willing to trade some gear for a pair of speakers, relating to your comment about not having anything to play these on.

Regarding the Elise speakers, are those tall enough that the lay-back is aiming the tweeters above the listener?

Welcome to the group and great speakers....

Bo

Thanks Bo... yeah Bob and I have already spoke on the phone..   :D .. we have allot in common..

I'd love to trade some speakers for gear.. that's my goal.. But what I really would like to do, is create a strategic partership with a manufacturer to compliment my pieces.. As well as to use for shows like RMAF and the art gallery in Las Vegas that some of these will be shown at..

In regards to the listening angle.. I am huge on phase and time.. so I try mechanically align drivers and use 1st order slopes.. the issue that I ran into with these tweeters is their moutning baffles.. since the mounting flange was beveled.. I could not counter sink them and make them look good.. so some angling was done to aid this..

  • I'm just not right!
There's probably enough excess gear floating around GAS that you could host a GTG.  We could all bring gear (the night before so it is all warmed up) and then listen to the combinations.

GAS CAVEAT!  Before you even consider hosting a GTG, you'd better put all your power tools in a rented storage bin until everyone has left.   :icon_twisted:

well after Scott's shin dig.. I'm down for a GTG.. but doubt the wifey would be down anytime soon as we have a 10 week old baby at the house..

So with that being said... somebody supply the listening area.. I'll bring the goods   :D
