I have a Music Hall CD25 cd player, I am thinking about getting the Ram mod which may set me back close to a grand, or I can just sell it and use the money towards a Consonance or Unico tubed cdp which both go for $2,000. What do you guys think? :?:

I would mod it.  I heard Dan Wright does it for $600 with tube outputs.

Up against  the Ah 4000 with upsampler... no contest, talk about width of sound stage, better depth, focus, it has it all.  The RAM has better delineation of each voice and instrument placement.  A great player!!!!   Plan to put some dampening on the chassis.

I had the stock CD25 and then went with the RAM CD25, it was a good choice.   Probably my last standalone CDP.

Hi Lordcloud,
Should you decide to go with our RAM modification. I highly recommend damping the chassis and cover. We now install this damping material in the RAM players. Let me know if you decide to send it to Dan and I will send either you or him the damping material now used in all the RAM players so it can be installed into your unit.

Thanks to everyone else who replied to this thread and the kind words in regard to this player.
