Fun with bubbles

Not sure why I tried this, but it turned out to be really interesting!

Forget trying to use any auto settings to do this, I had to preset the light settings, aperture (1.8 as per my MO :) ) shutter speed has to be pretty quick 1/60 and the hardest part catching the manual focus on a continuously moving object. Bubbles move in such bizarre patterns you find yourself shooting a lot of out of focus stuff. I had about 2-3 seconds to get the shot before they would pop midair or slip into a bad lighting situation or float too far away... etc etc.

You can actually see my cousin blowing the bubbles if you look in the bottom left corner, or the top right corner. And of course you can see me in the dead center of every bubble  :o

Great pics.  How many bubbles got away?

I bet bubble pictures are like snowflakes---no two alike.

To get the 7-8 good pics I got I shot about 40. It can be very frustrating especially at f1.8 the DoF is so narrow even shots that appear to be in focus through the viewfinder may be horribly out of focus in reality.
