**11/25: I just got a super cheap quote for someone from Schenker for shipping to California, so shipping seems to be very reasonable right now.**

A speaker that, deservedly, has been a Class A "Stereophile" Recommended Component for just about as long as anything else. Tweeters of the Month come and go, but the VSM has shown it's a speaker for the decades, one that's in rare audio company for all the things it does not just well but exceptionally well.

"It's no wonder," sez Mikey Fremer, "this speaker has been universally well reviewed and always seems to be voted among the 'best sounding' at audio consumer and trade shows." Reviewing the bookshelf TSM-MMs on "Soundstage," Marc Mickelson said that "the TSM-MM is a superb speaker no matter its size, and it makes me wonder what heights the latest Merlin VSM [the MM] reaches."

The MM, Magic Mod, version is just a whisker or two away from the MX version, the predecessor to the current MXe, which now lists for 11.5 large ones. The current MME is nine big bills. These were upgraded from the Millennium to MM status.

They are in excellent shape and will come with bonus, a pair of the lead-free jumpers in addition to the leaded. Come with the single-ended RCA battery Super Bam. Have grilles, box, and all that good stuff.

I'd love to have these, as I run the TSM-MMe and like 'em a lot, but I'd love to have the big boys. But, as I'm facing grad school tuition next year, I'm out of the loop.

I think at the price of new ones, they have some competition, but at this price you'd be hard pressed to find something as musical. I think it speaks volumes that year after year, audio show attendees and reviewers always say the Merlin room sounded good to great, despite the crappy conditions people always whine about.
