THE HARWELL COMPUTER
The giant rack of vacuum tubes is being taken out of storage at Wolverhampton University where it has been gathering dust since 1973.

I certainly understand why they would want to preserve it, but make it functional, to boot? It will probably cause the building (or block) lights to dim when they turn it on and while it's warming up my wristwatch will perform more calculations than the Harwell has made in its entire existence, using less than 1/1,000,000,000 of the power required just to turn the Harwell on.

Maybe they want to salvage all those vintage tubes, they know audiophiles will pay $50 each!
