what the different between car subwoofer and home subwoofers?

Usually just parameters and their design goals.   In a car you have HUGE amounts of cabin gain.   You design the driver with that in mind giving up bandwidth for smaller enclosures size.     

Many home audio subs will work fine in a car as long as you use the appropriate enclosure.

Agree with Kevin - the magic is in the enclosure being appropriately designed and built.

I have used Nakamichi and Rockford Fosgate woofers in the home with great results in the past...
