For sale is a two year old pair of cross-connected (CC89259) dual-coaxial speaker cable made from Belden's popular 89259 coaxial cable (retail price $151 plus shipping). Based on the recipe by Jon Risch (moderator of the cable forum at audioasylum.com), the Twisted Pair Speaker Cable is very popular among DIY hobbyists for its sonic ability, and could be compared against high-end cables at any price. This cable is terminated using high-end quality Vampire Wire banana connectors (one end only) and insulated with foam Teflon? dielectric: the best solid insulator made. The Twisted Pair speaker cable offers exceptional clarity and a neutral, rich sound; it is smooth throughout the audio frequency. This cable is very labor intensive and could take the average DIYer many hours to build.
Note that these cables are well made and stiff. They function flawlessly, although one end has had the connectors removed to allow for bare wire connections. The extra Vampire Wire banana connectors and shrink wrap covers will be included. I used them with in a no smoking/pet environment and have had zero problems. I?m just looking to try something different. The Twisted Pair Speaker Cables are detailed and transparent without becoming ruthlessly revealing. Their tonal balance is exemplary, and dynamic shifts, small and large, are impressively natural. The design represents a great American made value. They show that you don't have to spend big bucks to get very good speaker cables.
