Nice looking cabs with the XJ15's.  Are those veneered sonotubes?

The XJ sub tubes are 15" PVC. They are heavy and very strong, about 1/2 inch thick material.
The cabinets are just baffles for the XJ's, there is no back so they run open baffle.

Nice looking cabinets is an understatement! Those are gorgeous dude! Okay, are the XJ-15's in a U-frame? Almost seems like it given the driver is stuck inside a tube with an open back. Is there an active crossover as such between the Hawthorne Coaxial driver and XJ-15's as such?

Again, beautiful work.

Anand.

Correct the XJ's are in a U-frame they work well up to about 80hz. Yes there is an active crossover between the XJ's and the 10" silver iris's. It is a DBX-223 fixed slope at 24db set around 75hz.
I use two B&K amps one for the woofers and one for the Silver Iris's.
The key word I would use to describe the "Housewreckers" is OUTPUT :green: they play well at any sane level and beyond.

Indeed. A single driver in a U-frame is equivalent of two in an H-frame, i.e. there is 6dB more output in a U-frame. Now you have (2) U-frames per side with a woofer that nobody would call a slouch!

I'm sure for the truly psychotic you could seal the U-frame easily and get a touch more output in the lowest octave. But when you already have (2) U-frames, what's the need?

Ya they work well in larger rooms where extra low end output is needed.
