FS: TRT Caps & Coils for VMPS RM30 $300
I just completed a ?digilog? conversion on my VMPS RM30 speakers and now have some extra passive crossover parts. The parts for sale are for the woofer to midrange panel crossover only since I left the mid to tweeter crossover in the speakers.
What is of value here are the TRT capacitors which represent a $1200 factory upgrade. For the RM30, individual TRT caps are bundled together to make one big capacitor for the midrange high pass circuit. Each bundle has two 10uF caps and an assortment of other caps with values between 1 and 5uF.
I have two matched sets of the following parts: 1 TRT capacitor bundle, 1 high pass coil, 1 low pass coil, and 1 midrange L-pad. It?s important to keep the capacitors and coils together because their values have been trimmed by Brian of VMPS to achieve the right blend between the drivers. Because the TRT caps and smaller coil are used to high-pass the mid panels, these components can be used to upgrade other VMPS speakers that have the same panels like 626, RM2, LRC, RM40, etc.
Based on the prices in Michael Percy?s catalog ( percyaudio.com ), each of the two TRT cap bundles has a retail value of over $200. The coils and the L-pads are probably worth another $100 for an overall parts value of around $500.
