Ive got some full range speakers that I would like to make use out of, but I dont know what type of enclosure to build for them. I have been reading that alot of people like transmission line enclosures, is that true? Is there a computer program available to get a starting point on TL enclosures? I have no spec of these driver. Any suggestions on type of enclosures, etc?

The Fostex International site has some recommendations:

http://www.fostexinternational.com/docs/speaker_comp/rec_enc_1.shtml

This should be a good starting point for you.

Depending on what drivers you have of course.

Hi, you will need to get the specs of the drivers to do any design, I would think. Otherwise, perhaps just try them on an open baffle and see what happens.

You'll need to know some of the specs, but here is a good site. I built a pair of these BIBs for some $17.00 full range drivers and was quite pleasantly surprised. :thumb:http://www.zillaspeak.com/bib-howtobuild.asp

How would these FR speakers do in a BIB

I downloaded the calculator zillaspeak.com but I dont have a program to run it. I think its a Excel file extension.

John,
I thought about using them in a OB. They are some FR out of a old console radio that I got tried of being in the road so I parted it out. So without knowing what brand they are, some of the specs would be hard to come up with. They are 8 inches so they might be ok in a OB

Can you post some pictures... i have "recycled" many a console and may have seen them.

Consoles are usually just folded OBs, so your 1st opion with most of these is a more modern OB.

Looks like a midtweeter in an open baffle... It might make 100 Hz...
