New Shootout?
« on: 28 Aug 2009, 09:52 am »
Hey Danny,
We are aware that you will no longer compete in Stereo Mojo shootouts (disappointing for your fans but fair enough), so how about a shootout against say the V-1, The LS-9, the OB-7 plus, may be the n2x (and/or) N3 and servo sub combo and any other of your designs that the selling company feels wont be destroyed by that sort of competition?   :D
Thanks

Perhaps you could even include some speakers that Danny designed for other companies.  There are plenty of people here that got turned on to his work that way, and will be curious how it all compares.

I know I'd like to hear some of the Usher speakers that Danny designed the crossovers on.  Also, if you haven't heard it already, I think you'd be surprised how well the AV-123 X-Static would stack up for a sub $1k speaker.

I would love to get the results on that type of shootout as I've been thinking abouts building V1's. I love my LS-9's but they are BIG and really compress my smaller room. If the V1's do well it would go a long way toward starting me down the Open baffle road.

It wouldn't be right to compare the finished product that I designed for other companies to my own. Besides, I will be sticking to selling my own products as kits so as not to compete with my clients.

BTW, I just got the Venuette's up and playing (finally) this morning). They are burning in right now.

I still have to add the floor spikes and I still need to get the fabric onto the grills. More work still ahead.

Hi Danny,

Is that the new name for the V-1s with the open back tweeter?

Please don't tell me that you have already redesigned the speaker again!

Not yet.

The adhesive is still drying on the grills.

They look really good though.

Pics tomorrow at Art's.
