always interesting to see how people imagine what the future will look like vs what it actually turns out to be...

Meters :drool: :drool: :drool:

This meter required a search of almost 1 year - it is for my Steampunk stereo stand and the meter's aesthetics are perfect for my application. This meter is a little over 11 inches wide. The fun is finding the right parts. The wings you see on each side of the column are for the 28Bs.

Still a work in progress....

Do you think that the 28Bs are overkill for the KEFs :wink:

Be well...

Hey,  I studied Fortran in college. I was also pretty mean on a key-punch machine.  I bet I could make that puppy work. Oh, wait,  I forgot most of it after a few decades.  :lol:

What happened to my flying car and jet pack?  I was told by Popular Science (or was it Popular Mechanics?) that I'd have them in the year 2000.  They're 9 years late, and counting...

Couple of things;

First, that picture was from a photoshop contest on fark.com (some of them are *very* funny) from a number of years ago. It's a fake (including the caption).

Second, those KEFs are going to lose their magic smoke if you crank up those 28Bs -- make sure you have a fire extinguisher handy :-)

Hello Ian,

Interestingly enough, I had to have the KEFs serviced a few years ago - something let go inside of them. I was using a Sony receiver to drive them at the time. I think what did the KEFs in was the horrible output signal from this receiver. There was more clipping going on inside of this receiver than clippers that sailed the 7 seas.

Fed-up, I used my Marantz SR-19 and noticed a huge difference and never had anymore problems. The KEFs would welcome the super clean audio signal coming out of the 28Bs -at low levels of course.

The KEFs are excellent speakers, but my JBLs are just salivating for the 28Bs :drool:

Oh happy days, I am picking up my 28Bs tomorrow!

Be well....

Can you stack that on top of the BDA-1?  If not the BDA-1 will present a placement challenge in my room.

 :lol: It only holds about 10 secs of 96k before you get to use the steering wheel to toggle back to the front of the song.
